This is the trouble shooting guide for floppies.If you have any problems in floppies do follow the instruction below.

Symptoms:Read Error

1	Scratches/Deep line on track 0 of the disk due to contamination in the drive head or in the disc.	To open the window of the disc by pushing the shutter gently with a finger towards the arrow side of the diskette from the H D side(i e shutter resting position).Rotate the center core finger and watch any circular ring/scratch in the track of the disc,ie track near the outer periphery of the diskette.If any circular ring/scratch is there in the disc then diskette is no more good to use in any system.
2	Drive alignment out	Please clean the drive with the head cleaning diskette before using any other diskette because the scratch would have caused in the disc due to floppy disk drive head contamination. If there is no scratch on the disc,the problem might be caused due to the out of head alignment of the floppy drive.In this case,diskette can be re-formatted and use in the same system(If the drive is out of alignment and the diskette formatted in that drive may not function in other system.)
